Tropixplosion Ensembles
Tropixplosion has many different size ensembles. We have a large show band, our most popular 5 & 6 piece options on down to a solo steel drum act with backing tracks, and every size ensemble in between! In addition, we have special show add-ons and an educational band as well. To make things easier, we also offer a package with a professional sound system and lighting as needed.

The 7pc band has several different configurations. Subtract a horn player or pan player from the 8pc band. It's still full of energy, has the sound of the bigger ensembles, but costs a bit less!
6pc Band
This is one of our most popular ensembles.
5pc Band
This is one of our most popular ensembles.
Quartet
The quartet consists of steel drums, guitar/male vocal, bass guitar, and a hybrid percussion/drum set. It’s a cool mix of popular island tunes, classic rock and popular hits with an island twist. Reggae, Calypso, Tropical Rock, Soca, Latin, and more. This ensemble is great for cocktail hour, pre dinner, small events, private parties, or audiences of 75 or less.

Trio
The trio consists of steel drums, guitar/male vocal, and a hybrid percussion/drum set. It’s a cool mix of popular island tunes, classic rock and popular hits with an island twist. Reggae, Calypso, Tropical Rock, Soca, Latin, and more. This ensemble is great for cocktail hour, pre dinner, small events, private parties, or audiences of 50 or less.

Duos
Tropixplosion Duo - with Paul and Meg
The duo consists of one percussionist playing a mix between steel drums and congas/ cajon as well as a guitarist / male vocalist. It’s a great variety of songs – some instrumentally, some with vocals, some with steel drums, some with congas and cajon! Soca, Reggae, Tropical Rock, Bossa Nova, Pop, Calypso, Classic Rock and more all island-ized. This ensemble is great for cocktail hour, pre dinner, small events, private parties, or audiences of 50 or less.

This duo consists of one percussionist playing a mix between steel drums and congas/cajon as well as piano/ male vocals. It’s a great variety of songs – some instrumentally, some with vocals, some with steel drums, some with congas and cajon! This ensemble is great for cocktail hour, pre dinner, small events, private parties, or audiences of 50 or less.
Solo Steel Drum Act
The solo steel drum act is one steel drummer playing with backing tracks to give it a rich, full sound. It is all instrumental and a small sound system is included. Standard island favorites, bossa nova, soca, calypso, reggae, pop, and more! Both our solo steel drum acts are perfect for cocktail hour, pre-dinner, ambiance music for events, senior facilities, and audiences of 50 or less. We also have a Solo Island Holiday Act (see video below)!
